"Most thrilling to me are the new questions, both cognitive and physical, elicited by investigation. I strive to create a classroom infused with humor and spaciousness, so that students may embrace the vulnerability that so often fosters growth. "

Studio Class Description
The goal of my technique classes, no matter the idiom, is to explore the interplay between technical prowess and personal artistry. My definition of technique is quite simple – "Doing what you want to do, when you want to do it." To this end, I work to constantly highlight awareness and personal agency. Utilizing various elements of somatic practice and conditioning, class opens with a warm-up that allows dancers the opportunity to investigate anatomical integrity inside their subjective bodies. Continued movement explorations aim to balance full-throttled expansiveness with nuanced clarity and intention, and are accompanied by multiple opportunities to develop and refine rhythmic accuracy.
